Settlers

«Settlers» is a restaurant on Vasilyevsky Island, in a residential neighborhood near the Primorskaya and Gorny Institut metro stations. The place was conceived for locals who drop in for both breakfast and dinner. The interior is done in warm beige tones, with linen and wood used in the finishing, and tall arched windows let in plenty of natural light. The kitchen is open, so some dishes are prepared in full view of guests, and there's a bar counter nearby where cocktails are made right in front of you. The menu is built on European cuisine with a French accent: chef Ekaterina Plotnikova, who previously worked at the Moscow restaurant Alma, drew on classic French recipes and dishes from the country's Mediterranean coast. From 11:00 to 14:00, the restaurant serves late breakfasts — French toast with seasonal berries and fried eggs with ham and Gruyère cheese. Throughout the day and in the evening, the menu features salade niçoise, French onion soup, and beef cheeks Burgundy-style, with a layered apple tart for dessert. Alongside European classics, the menu also includes pizza, burgers, and steaks. The wine list is compact, with around 30 labels, half of which are available by the glass. The focus is on small European wineries, mostly organic. The bar menu also offers spirits, beer, and cider from local producers. For private events, the restaurant has a separate room seating 8 people with a panoramic window and a screen. The average check at «Settlers» is 1,500 ₽.
