About

Flâner

«Flâner» in Krivokolenny Lane brings together the culinary traditions of North Africa, the Middle East and Europe on one plate. Chef Eli Stein builds the menu around modern Jewish cuisine: za'atar, sumac, cinnamon and spicy pepper set the tone, and a third of all dishes come off the grill. Here they make octopus with almond-garlic skordalia cream, "Jaffa" fish soup, lamb-and-veal kofta, and freekeh "risotto" made from smoked green wheat with goat cheese. For dessert — "Knafeh-Sulguni," layered pastry with rose water and three kinds of cheese. At «Flâner» dishes are served to share — large portions placed in the center of the table so the whole group can try everything. The menu features plenty of eggplant, fresh sea fish and yogurt, and the range of flavors is as broad as the history of the Jewish people. The restaurant's interior was created by architect Agnon Granot in a futuristic style. The place is a short walk from Chistye Prudy, Lubyanka and Sretensky Boulevard; the average check runs from 1,000 to 3,000 rubles.
