El Asador

A piece of the Basque Country has settled on Bolshaya Ordynka — «El Asador» cooks the food of northern Spain the way it's done in Basque and Navarrese taverns. The menu features pintxos and tapas, Spanish cured meats, fresh seafood, wood-fired suckling goat and lamb, and the signature chuletón bone-in steak. The average check is 3,000–6,000 ₽, so an evening here can easily turn into a full tasting session. The restaurant takes particular pride in its cider. The owner was among the founders of the well-known St. Anton cider brand, and all 9 varieties of the drink are made by hand from Russian apples using traditional Spanish recipes — foamy, aromatic, with genuine Basque character. The cider is complemented by an impressive wine list: over 120 labels from Ribera del Duero, Toro, Bierzo, Rioja, Rías Baixas and other regions of Spain. The venue operates as a bar-restaurant within walking distance of Novokuznetskaya, Tretyakovskaya and Polyanka metro stations. It takes banquet bookings and has a separate children's menu as well as a bar menu — making it a good fit for both a business lunch and a big family gathering.
