Don Giulio

«Don Giulio» on Obolensky Lane is an Italian establishment that grew out of a small shop in the center of Moscow. It was founded by Giulio Zompi, a native of Verona who has lived in Moscow for more than 15 years and treats food as a true art form intrinsic to Italian culture. First came the food shop, then the restaurant, and later the café-patisserie — all united by a shared Italian spirit and attention to detail. Giulio personally selects the products and dishes for the menu, so the emphasis here is not on lavish interiors but on the quality of what is served to guests. Italian style shows up in everything: in the way prosciutto is sliced, in how dishes are presented, in the approach to pairing food and wine. Giulio himself is convinced that you can only understand Italian culture by tasting genuine Italian products together with wine. The Café Don Giulio Pasticceria has been open since 2015 and welcomes anyone in love with Italy at any hour of the day. The establishment also runs the Don Giulio Salumeria shop with delivery across Moscow — groceries, cured meats, cheeses, olive oil and vinegar, ready-made dishes and antipasti sold by weight, as well as gourmet gifts and cakes made to order.
