Mellow Beer&Wine

On Profsoyuznaya Street, long known in Kazan as a street of bars and restaurants, you'll find Mellow Beer&Wine. The venue occupies a historic building of the former grain market, built in 1795. The space has two levels, and there is no bar counter — instead, there's a small table by the kegerator, and the floor staff combine the roles of bartender and waiter: the same person takes the order, pours the drinks, and brings the food. Guests are seated at high tables and regular tables, and there are two communal tables for solo visitors and large groups. The menu features European dishes that pair equally well with wine and beer: tartare, mussels, fish and chips, chicken wings, burgers, pasta. Worth special attention are the pizzettes with crispy dough and unusual toppings — beef carpaccio, Parma ham, spinach, goat cheese — as well as Danish smørrebrød. The menu also includes skirt steak, mussels with Roquefort cheese, a seafood salad, and a salted caramel dessert with ice cream. Drinks here are chosen just as carefully as the food. On tap, there are 22 varieties of Russian and international craft beer, ranging from lagers and lambics to porters and stouts, plus around a hundred more bottled options.
