Tondo

«Tondo» was opened by the La Biga team in the Lumiere residential complex on Korpusnaya Street, near Chkalovskaya metro station. Chefs Anton Isakov and Alexey Skobelkin, together with pizzaiolo Daniil Sychev, prepare classic Italian cuisine with unexpected touches: pizza with pumpkin and oxtail, artichokes in cacio e pepe sauce, seafood soup with smoked tomatoes, paccheri carbonara. The name refers to Tonda Romana pizza — it's made with a pre-fermented dough, kneaded by hand and rolled out twice to achieve a crispy crust and the right color. The menu includes a classic Margherita and a Capricciosa with artichoke, prosciutto, olives and oyster mushrooms, a version with tomatoes and stracciatella, a spicy Spinata ala diablo with salami, as well as a calzone with prosciutto, olives, spinach and egg. Besides pizza, the restaurant serves antipasti, a dozen types of pasta, risotto and other hot dishes, including chicken cotoletta. The interior evokes 1960s Italy, and the cocktail list by head bartender Yuli Shilin matches it: signature negronis, spritzes, and six non-alcoholic mixes that can be paired with dishes and desserts on request. The wine list, put together by sommelier Sergey Lukinov, brings together Carricante grown on volcanic ash, sparkling wine from Roero, and five-year-old Madeira. The average check at «Tondo» is 3,000 to 6,000 rubles.
