Subzero II

«Subzero II» is the second location of the Asian bistro, grown out of its first venue on Rubinstein Street. It's situated on the 14th floor of the River House shopping mall on the Petrogradskaya side, next door to the restaurant «Ryba», but leads its own separate life — with its own entrance and a children's room. The only thing shared with its neighbor is the parking lot. Look for the entrance facing the TV tower — which also becomes part of the evening view from the window. The interior is done in a minimalist style with botanical accents, and the windows offer a view of the illuminated industrial landscape of the Vyborg side and the Kantemirovsky Bridge. Thanks to its distance from busy streets and the city panorama, the place suits a quiet festive dinner or a date for two. The menu mostly repeats what's served on Rubinstein Street — the same elaborate rolls with a generous portion of mixed salad. But here you can try dishes not found at the first Subzero: a roll with beef tataki and a roll with salmon and tuna tataki. The average check runs from 1,000 to 3,000 rubles, and the nearest metro station is Petrogradskaya.
