Sever-Metropol

«Sever-Metropol» is a confectionery producer with a history dating back to before the revolution. The first mention of a bakery-confectionery shop at 44 Nevsky Prospekt appears in the 1903 "Ves Peterburg" ("All of Petersburg") yearbook. Back then, long lines formed on Nevsky Prospekt for fresh pastries and desserts, and the shop quickly became a favorite spot among locals. The business survived two world wars and a revolution without ever stopping work, preserving the recipes developed by Soviet-era confectioners. Today, «Sever-Metropol» makes the same desserts as decades ago: "Kartoshka" pastries, "Bird's Milk" and "Teatralny" cakes, "Bouché" buns, almond cookies, and "Leningradsky" cake. The recipes remain unchanged, and the ingredients stay natural: fresh chocolate, butter, and real cream. Boiled condensed milk for the desserts is ordered from Mordovia, and every batch of ingredients undergoes a quality check. The shop is located in St. Petersburg, at 28 Yaroslavsky Prospekt, near the Udelnaya metro station. The connection to the past is still felt here: the taste of the cakes and cookies, familiar to several generations of St. Petersburg residents, has remained unchanged since Soviet times.
