Sever-Metropol

«Sever-Metropol» at 51/13 Sredneokhtinsky Prospekt is a confectionery with roots in pre-revolutionary St. Petersburg. Its history began with a bakery-confectionery at 44 Nevsky Prospekt, mentioned in the "Ves' Peterburg" directory as early as 1903. Back then, people lined up right on Nevsky for fresh pastries, and the production survived two world wars and a revolution, preserving its traditions to this day. Here, desserts are made according to Soviet-era recipes developed by local confectioners and turned into classics for several generations of St. Petersburg residents. The menu includes "Kartoshka" pastries, "Ptichye Moloko" and "Teatralny" cakes, "Bouchée" buns, almond cookies, and dozens of other desserts familiar to many locals since childhood. All of them are made from natural ingredients: fresh chocolate, butter, and real cream. The boiled condensed milk for the recipes is ordered from Mordovia — ingredients undergo strict quality control. The kitchen offers a mixed menu, but the focus is on confectionery, made the same way it was decades ago.
