Sever-Metropol

«Sever-Metropol» on Ulitsa Salova, 61, is a confectionery with a history rooted in pre-revolutionary St. Petersburg. It all began with a bakery-confectionery shop at Nevsky Prospekt, 44, which is mentioned in the 1903 directory "Ves Peterburg" ("All of Petersburg"). Back then, people lined up on the avenue for fresh pastries, and the recipes have been passed down almost unchanged ever since — the production survived the revolution and two world wars, but kept the taste familiar to several generations of St. Petersburg residents. Here they make the classics of Soviet confectionery: "Kartoshka" and "Leningradskoye" pastries, "Ptichye Moloko" cake, "Teatralny" cake, "Bouchée" buns, and almond cookies. All these recipes were developed by the factory's confectioners back in Soviet times, and today they are still made using the same methods, only with natural ingredients — fresh chocolate, natural cream, butter. Even the boiled condensed milk is deliberately sourced from Mordovia to preserve the right taste and quality. The menu at «Sever-Metropol» is mixed, but the focus is on confectionery — the very legacy of St. Petersburg's oldest confectionery production. Every product undergoes strict quality control before it reaches the counter or the guest's table.
