Sever-Metropol

«Sever-Metropol» on Leninsky Prospekt, 78 is a confectionery with a rich history rooted in a bakery-confectionery on Nevsky Prospekt, 44. The first mention of it appears in the 1903 "Ves' Peterburg" directory. Even then, queues for fresh pastries stretched along the whole of Nevsky Prospekt, and the production made it through two world wars and a revolution, remaining part of the memory of several generations of St. Petersburg residents. Here they prepare the classics of Soviet confectionery according to old recipes developed back in the Soviet years. The display case holds "Kartoshka" pastries, "Ptichye Moloko" and "Teatralny" cakes, "Bouchée" buns, almond cookies, and dozens of other desserts familiar to many since childhood. Only natural ingredients are used in the work: real chocolate, butter, natural cream. Boiled condensed milk for the fillings is ordered from Mordovia — this is how the authentic taste of the classic recipes is preserved. The establishment's kitchen combines a mixed menu with a wide range of in-house confectionery products. In 2007, a new chapter began in the history of «Sever-Metropol» with the construction of a modern production facility, which made it possible to preserve traditions while also expanding the range of products.
