«Sever-Metropol» on Vasi Alekseeva Street, 10, is a confectionery with a history rooted in St. Petersburg, dating back to 1903, when it began as a bakery on Nevsky Prospekt, 44. Back then, lines for fresh pastries stretched along the entire avenue, and the business survived the revolution and two world wars, keeping its place in the memory of several generations of city residents. To this day, desserts here are made according to Soviet confectionery recipes: "Kartoshka" and "Leningradskoye" pastries, "Ptichye Moloko" and "Teatralny" cakes, "Bouchée" buns, and almond cookies. Only natural ingredients are used — fresh chocolate, natural cream, butter. Products undergo strict quality control: for example, boiled condensed milk is sourced from Mordovia. The menu is mixed, but the emphasis is on confectionery — those very flavors from childhood, familiar to many St. Petersburg residents and visitors to the city.
