Sever-Metropol

«Sever-Metropol» at 20 Bryantseva Street is a patisserie with a history dating back to the early twentieth century. It all began with a bakery-patisserie at 44 Nevsky Prospekt, mentioned as far back as the 1903 "Ves Peterburg" directory. Back then, people lined up along the entire prospect for fresh pastries, and the production survived the revolution and two world wars, remaining a living witness to the city's history. Here, pastries are made according to Soviet-era recipes developed by local confectioners and that became classics for several generations of St. Petersburg residents. The menu includes "Kartoshka" pastries, "Bird's Milk" and "Teatralny" cakes, "Buche" buns, almond cookies, and dozens of other desserts familiar since childhood. All are made from natural ingredients: fresh chocolate, butter, natural cream. For the boiled condensed milk, ingredients are ordered from Mordovia, preserving a taste familiar since Soviet times. Besides confectionery, «Sever-Metropol» also serves mixed-cuisine dishes. The establishment continues the traditions of St. Petersburg's oldest confectionery production, combining time-tested recipes with a modern approach to product quality.
