Sever-Metropol

«Sever-Metropol» at 4 Bolshaya Pushkarskaya Street is a confectionery with a history that began back in 1903 with a bakery on Nevsky Prospect, 44. Back then, people lined up along the avenue for fresh pastries, and recipes created by Soviet confectioners became classics for decades to come. The establishment survived two world wars and a revolution, but it hasn't lost its traditions — today the desserts are made using the same recipes as many years ago. The menu features the legendary "Kartoshka" and "Leningradskoye" pastries, "Ptichye Moloko" and "Teatralny" cakes, "Bouchée" buns, almond cookies, and other baked goods familiar to many St. Petersburg residents since childhood. Only natural ingredients are used for the desserts: fresh chocolate, natural cream, and butter. Boiled condensed milk for some recipes is ordered separately from Mordovia — the quality of ingredients is checked at every stage. The cuisine at «Sever-Metropol» is mixed, but the emphasis is on confectionery — the very craft with which the establishment's history began more than a century ago.
