Sever-Metropol

«Sever-Metropol» on Babushkina Street, 42, is a confectionery with a history that began back in 1903 with a bakery-confectionery shop on Nevsky Prospekt, 44. Back then, lines for fresh pastries stretched along the whole avenue, and the establishment survived two world wars and a revolution, remaining in the memory of several generations of Petersburgers. Here, desserts are made according to Soviet confectionery recipes developed back in those years. The "Kartoshka" and "Leningradskoye" pastries, "Ptichye Moloko" cake, "Teatralny" cake, "Bushe" buns, almond cookies — all these desserts are made from natural ingredients: fresh chocolate, natural cream, butter, and condensed milk. The products undergo strict quality control, and the boiled condensed milk is ordered from Mordovia. The kitchen at «Sever-Metropol» combines confectionery with mixed cuisine. Each dessert is made according to the original recipe preserved from Soviet times — that same taste familiar to many since childhood.
