Palomnik

«Palomnik» is a refectory at the Holy Trinity Alexander Nevsky Lavra in St. Petersburg. It is located at 1 Monastyrki River Embankment, building A, right on the grounds of the monastery complex. The cuisine here is Russian, monastic — simple, straightforward food without unnecessary frills. The refectory operates as part of the Lavra's larger household: nearby are the Alexander Nevsky Lavra's own bakery and cheese dairy, so some of the food served is made in the monastery's own workshops. The place is aimed at pilgrims and visitors to the Lavra who come for services or to learn about the monastery's history. After visiting the churches and monuments, you can stop by here, on the Monastyrki River embankment, and have a meal of Russian dishes in the calm surroundings of the monastery grounds.
