About

Murmanchane

«Murmanchane» is a restaurant on the Petrogradskaya side, near Chkalovskaya metro station, on Bolshaya Zelenina Street. It was opened by chef Svetlana Kozeiko from Murmansk, and the kitchen here is built around northern ingredients: reindeer, moose, kelp, and fish from the Barents Sea — cod, halibut, salmon, and wolffish. The menu also features crab and scallop, and the cod liver is processed right at sea, on the ship. Crab belyashi have become a local hit: they're served at breakfast from 12:00 to 17:00, with a glass of pink sparkling wine on the side. Teriberka-style shchi is made with a broth of baked crab and shrimp shells that simmers for twelve hours. Crab is also used to make small cutlets and a casserole with potatoes in cream sauce, though you won't find whole crab legs on the menu. The cuisine at «Murmanchane» is described as Arctic, and the menu is rounded out with raw dishes, European recipes, Russian cuisine, and oysters. There is a cocktail list. The average check runs from 3,000 to 6,000 rubles.
