Idiot

«Idiot» on the Moika River embankment, 82, started as a vegetarian restaurant, but over time meat dishes also appeared on the menu — minced and stewed meat of various kinds. That said, the main focus here is on snacks to go with vodka: pickles, fermented vegetables, and even unusual rolls made of potato with herring. The vodka itself is served not by the shot, but by weight — in kilograms. The menu features many dishes with mushrooms and fish, and in the Italian section you can find scallops and other seafood. The restaurant's interior looks as if it was assembled from a flea market — old armchairs, dim lighting, and a small English-language library create a distinctive character for the space. For dessert, it's worth trying the aptly named dish «Idiot's Dream» — pureed berries with whipped cream and ice cream. The restaurant is located in the very center of St. Petersburg, on the Moika embankment, and combines Russian cuisine with European and vegetarian dishes.
