Crevette

Crevette, or simply «Krevetka», is a joint project by gastro-producer Alena Melnikova and chef Oleg Perfilov, a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu. The forty-seat venue is located in the «Brusnitsyn» cultural quarter on Kozhevennaya Line, near Gorny Institut metro station. The format is inspired by Parisian néobistros: signature cuisine, seafood as the star, and a view of the Gulf of Finland through panoramic windows that, in good weather, are thrown wide open with tables set outside. The menu is built around different types of shrimp — botan, Magadan, Argentine, sweet northern, and Crimean. King shrimp are served with an elaborate cognac-based cocktail sauce, while shrimp and salmon go into a rillette with cheese mousse. There are also dishes without shrimp: on weekends, brunch guests order scrambled eggs with basturma and spiced eggplant, croque-monsieur with Tambov ham, and syrniki. The wine list was put together by Evgeny Usachev, head of the Moscow bar «Skvot Vinnaya» and a sommelier school instructor. The interior, with an open kitchen, was designed by Alena Melnikova herself: Soviet factory lamps from the 1960s in milk glass sit alongside a mid-century Dutch chest of drawers, while the walls display contemporary art from the owner's personal collection. The bistro runs evening service from 5:00 pm, and on weekends opens for brunch from 11:00 am. Average check: from 1,000 to 3,000 ₽.
