Varenichnaya khata

«Varenichnaya khata» sits on Vinogradnaya Street, right on the grounds of a gas station — an unexpected location, but it doesn't spoil the spot: people come here specifically to eat Ukrainian food. In terms of regular guests, the café easily rivals beachfront establishments, and in terms of the quality of its borsch and vareniki, you'd be hard-pressed to find competitors anywhere in Greater Sochi. The menu features several versions of borsch, draniki (potato pancakes), pork cracklings, and salo — thin-sliced and melt-in-your-mouth. But the main dish here is vareniki: the dough is rolled out thin, the fillings are shaped in front of customers, and the choice of fillings is impressively wide. Among the drinks, strong homemade infusions are favored — moonshine, khrenovukha (horseradish vodka), and other homemade recipes. But there's also room for kvass, draft beer, and about a dozen wines from Italy and France. The average check here stays around 1,000 rubles, which, given the cuisine and portion sizes, can be called a fair price.
