Ulitka

«Ulitka» on Sovetskaya, 65a, was opened by Oleg Oshchepkov, a well-known Perm hedonist previously famous for the café «Marks». The name isn't a nod to slowness — it's more about the wish to linger longer and be in no hurry. The kitchen here is mixed: wok dishes sit alongside European fare and pan-Asian recipes, and breakfast is served not only in the morning but late into the evening as well. There's a choice of three kinds of porridge, eggs, syrniki, sandwiches, and farm cottage cheese with berries. On weekends, chef Lev Legotkin prepares a special three-course set that changes every week. On Mondays there's a business lunch: besides simple vegetable salads, you can find shark soup or pearl barley with porcini mushrooms. From the regular menu, it's worth trying the tom yum and the beet mille-feuille with fresh raspberries and avocado sauce. The average check at «Ulitka» is 1,000–3,000 ₽.
