Zaseka

The «Zaseka» restaurant is located in Penza, at 55 Sovkhoz-Tekhnikum Street, in a fairy-tale tower building constructed in 1977. The site itself has a long history: in the 17th century, this was the location of the Penza Upper Zaseka, a defensive line that protected against nomadic raids. For more than 46 years, the restaurant has preserved an old Russian style in its interior: a spacious "svetlitsa" hall, separate "gornitsa" rooms with a fireplace, carved wooden balusters, and handmade furniture. The cuisine at «Zaseka» is Russian, drawing on distinctive recipes from the local region. Some dishes are prepared in a genuine Russian wood-fired oven. The average check at the restaurant ranges from 1,000 to 3,000 rubles. Guests can arrange business breakfasts, banquets, and memorial meals by advance order, and cakes can also be ordered. The restaurant periodically changes its menu depending on the season — for example, strawberry dishes are added in summer — and hosts gastronomic dinners with wine tastings. «Zaseka» is open daily from 12:00 to 23:00.
