Ekspeditsiya

«Ekspeditsiya», located at 1 Rozhdestvenskaya Street in Nizhny Novgorod, serves dishes of northern cuisine — delicacies of the Russian North and the Arctic region prepared according to traditional and original recipes brought back from real expeditions. Chef Alexander Zhurkin offers stroganina (thin-sliced frozen fish) made from muksun, omul, and chir whitefish, game caught in the northern forests, homemade baked goods, and house-made infusions. The seafood here is also kept on site — oysters, sea urchins, and mollusks are taken straight from the aquarium. The restaurant's interior is designed as a genuine taiga expedition. The «Tayozhnaya polyana» (Taiga Clearing) hall features a legendary Mi-2 helicopter, a small stage, and a panoramic view of the confluence of the Oka and Volga rivers — the hall seats 40 people, with room for up to 60 guests at banquets. A separate VIP hall, «Priyut polyarnika» (Polar Explorer's Shelter), is decorated with the cab of a real Ural truck and shamanic drums, and seats 20 people, with up to 25 for banquets. Hunting trophies hang on the walls, and guests can step into a stylized Chukchi yurt furnished with reindeer hides. In the evenings, the restaurant hosts bards performing travel songs with guitar accompaniment. There is a separate menu for children, and gift certificates of any denomination are available for purchase. The average check at «Ekspeditsiya» is 3,500 rubles, and the nearest metro station is Gorkovskaya. The restaurant is open daily from 12:00 to 24:00.
