Usadba Baryshnikova

«Usadba Baryshnikova» is located in the very center of Moscow, on Myasnitskaya Street, a twenty-minute walk from the Kremlin. It is an old mansion built in 1802, designed by the architect Matvei Kazakov and recognized as one of the finest examples of Moscow classicism. The building's exterior has changed little over two centuries, and its interiors retain original decorative finishes: painted ceilings, bas-reliefs, and columns. The estate's first owner was Ivan Baryshnikov, a member of one of the wealthiest merchant families. Besides horse studs and baking, he was involved in gardening, mill leasing, and coopering, and owned paper, woolen, and glass factories, as well as a tannery. Baryshnikov was known as a connoisseur of architecture and invited well-known architects of the time to build his estates. In the 19th century, the house welcomed the cream of Moscow society — visitors included Griboyedov, Tolstoy, and the Decembrists. Today the estate operates as a venue for business events and other functions, preserving the atmosphere of a noble mansion. The cuisine is European.
