The restaurant opened in 1999, and its name refers to a line from the song "Nathalie" by French chansonnier Gilbert Bécaud, which mentions "chocolat chez café Pouchkine." The kitchen is headed by chef Andrei Makhov, who has been at the helm for more than 25 years. It was he who, in 1999, took on the task of developing the menu for the future restaurant, studying hundreds of old recipes to adapt dishes from the noble era to modern tastes. Over the years, Makhov has trained dozens of chefs and published a recipe book called "Pushkina." The restaurant's interiors are designed in the spirit of that same era, with attention to detail and the atmosphere of old Moscow. The average check is 7,500 rubles. The restaurant is easily accessible from Tverskaya, Pushkinskaya, or Chekhovskaya metro stations. Free parking is available for guests arriving by car.
