Pizzeria Maestrello

«Pizzeria Maestrello» is located on Pokrovka, near Chistye Prudy, Kurskaya and Kitay-Gorod — it's equally convenient to reach from several metro stations. The place was founded by Italians Giulia Maestrello and Fabio Bressana, also known for the Wino wine bar, while chef Matteo Castagna took charge of the kitchen — this project being his first work experience in Russia. Here they make pinsa — a Roman version of pizza made from sourdough consisting of a mix of wheat, soy and rice flour. The menu features classic options as well as signature combinations: for instance, the "calvetti" with prosciutto cotto, mozzarella, ricotta and parmesan, or a pinsa with chanterelles, mozzarella and truffle cream. They also serve focaccia with rosemary, salads in large bowls with quinoa, chickpeas, tuna tataki, pastrami and wild rice, several desserts, coffee, tea and lemonades. The average check at «Pizzeria Maestrello» stays within the range of 1000–3000 rubles, and some menu items are surprisingly affordable — a pinsa with truffle cream costs about four hundred rubles.
