Kalinka na Neglinke

«Kalinka na Neglinke» opened in spring 2025 right in the center of Moscow, at Neglinnaya 8/10, across from TsUM, near Lubyanka and Kuznetsky Most metro stations. The venue sits next to the restaurant Loomi, owned by the same person — Mikhail Petukhov, formerly a managing partner at Arkady Novikov's restaurants, including Vogue Café. The dining room is designed in the spirit of a merchant's house: a tiled stove in the center, wooden beams, golden roosters, and 20-liter samovars right on the tables. There's no khokhloma painting or kokoshniks — the character of the place rests on details, not stereotypes. The kitchen is run by chef Alexei Tkachenko, who studies old Russian recipes from historical sources and adapts them for the modern table. The menu includes borscht with pampushki and homemade salo, pike caviar with crispy pearl barley, kholodets made from three types of meat with apple horseradish, pulled goose with millet porridge, pelmeni with pike and caviar sauce, and shashlik from Rostov suckling pig grilled over coals. For a more festive dinner, there are zucchini flowers stuffed with pike under crayfish sauce, and kid goat with buckwheat porridge made to an old recipe. Meanwhile, meat and cabbage pirozhki cost 120 rubles — a simple, honest gesture literally five hundred meters from the Bolshoi Theatre. The bar is built around house-infused vodkas — horseradish, pepper, chokeberry, lingonberry with saga-daylya, and "Iriska" — as well as house-made kvas. Dinner can be finished with tea from a samovar, brought right to the table. The average check at «Kalinka na Neglinke» is 1,000 to 3,000 rubles.
