«China Club» is one of the veterans of Arkady Novikov's restaurant group, located near Mayakovskaya metro station. The design here skips the usual Asian trappings — no dragons, no red lanterns. Colonial touches, photographs of Chinese beauties on the walls, chairs upholstered in oriental patterns, and screens dividing the main hall into intimate zones — that's the extent of the thematic nod. The kitchen offers a Moscow take on pan-Asian cuisine under chef Andrei Likhachev. Spicy, overly sweet, and overly exotic flavors are avoided here, while the menu is put together with a well-traveled crowd in mind — down to Peruvian ceviche. Among the dim sum, the crab version stands out: generous, fresh filling.
