Birkraft

«Birkraft» is a craft beer bar on Butyrsky Val, near Belorusskaya metro station. The place has no pretensions to flashiness: a narrow, elongated room, simple decor, no unnecessary frills. It was opened by Inna Golfand and Andrey Tyurin, and although they hadn't worked in the restaurant business before, they clearly know what they're doing. The bar's slogan is "Only good beer," and that's true in the most literal sense. There's almost no food here — just crackers, chips, and similar snacks. But when it comes to drinks, everything is in order: the range includes about 100 kinds of bottled beer, 5 kinds of Belgian draft, 1 kind of Czech, and 10 kinds of Russian. The Russian beer comes from the breweries Victory Art Brew (5 varieties), Jaws (3 varieties), and Velka Morava (2 varieties). People usually start showing up here no earlier than six in the evening — during the day it's quiet, The Doors plays, and the bartenders keep a reserved, businesslike mood. The average check at the bar is from 1,000 to 3,000 rubles.
