Shalom Shankhay

«Shalom Shankhay» occupies the basement floor of the building at 8 Marta, 4 — the same one that used to house a canteen with a kitchen in the basement. Today it's a bar with brick vaulted ceilings, a long bar counter, and four tea tables with soft sofas and armchairs. The place sits next to the gastropub «Gastroli» and the pizzeria «Faya», which opened in the same building a year earlier. The kitchen mixes Asian and European influences: steamed bao buns, banh mi sandwiches, bak kwa pork, crispy Sichuan eggplant, and Vietnamese spring rolls sit alongside tartare, ceviche, and lotus root chips. The alcohol menu was put together by head bartender Akim Velboy. The core of the menu is cocktails made with house-infused gin: with Sichuan pepper and tamarind, lavender, mango, açaí berries, and Thai blue tea. The bar also offers beer, cider, spirits, and a wine list featuring prosecco, muscadet, grüner veltliner, shiraz, pinot noir, and malbec. The place is easy to reach from Ploshchad 1905 Goda metro station.
