Penka, kofeynya

«Penka» on Prospekt Lenina in Chelyabinsk has been open for more than ten years and was once the first coffee chain in the city. It joined the international coffee association SCAE earlier than many others in the region, so coffee here is taken seriously: there's a wide selection of coffee drinks and other hot beverages on the menu. Desserts are a separate matter, made by pastry chef Igor Tumarkin, a winner of international competitions. Try the peanut cake with nut brittle and caramel, or the carrot sponge cake with cream cheese frosting. The signature dessert is the almond «Penka», named after the café itself. For breakfast, there are several options on offer — from French to Norwegian, each with its own set of dishes. For lunch, you can order a light spinach cream soup. The average check at the café is 1,000 to 3,000 rubles.
